Dear,
We are writing to you with a request for a donation of medical equipment that is urgently needed – specifically, two EKG machines.
Within the Health Center of Crna Bara, which is part of the Bogatić Health Center, we currently possess one GE MAC 500 EKG machine from 2004 at our disposal, while in the internal department of the central facility of the Health Center, we have an EKG machine of the same model but from 2003! So, the machines are 20 years old!!! The machines are completely depreciated and barely usable, with very frequent tape jamming malfunctions, connection issues, a blinking display with barely visible patient data and examination results. We encounter great difficulty in finding spare parts and tapes, as the original parts have long ceased production, and the installation of substitutes now causes work stoppages. The institution does not have spare equipment, so we are at risk of the machines failing and leaving us without support for this type of diagnosis. We often have to repeat examinations due to interruptions in operation while the machine is in operational mode, which leads to congestion because we never know how long the examination will last or whether the machines will be operational.
The aim of this project is to procure new EKG machines for the General Practice Service in Crna Bara Health Center and for the internal department of the Bogatić Health Center. The specificity of the internal department lies in intentionally repeating examinations after administering therapy, which is sometimes not feasible because the machine shuts down and loses signal in the electrodes.
The project’s goal is to eliminate the potential interruption of EKG examinations in Crna Bara Health Center, noting that it is a large rural settlement with a significant elderly population who, especially after Covid-19, experience significant heart rate fluctuations, making EKG examinations more frequent than usual.
The project’s goal is also to continually invest in modernizing equipment, raising the quality of diagnostics to a higher level, and ensuring that all patients, regardless of their place of residence, receive adequate EKG examinations that will serve for therapy if deviations are detected in a timely manner.
This Health Center conducts daily examinations: 35 patients in general practice and up to 30 patients in the internal department, indicating a significant capacity but also the need for modern diagnostic equipment in Crna Bara and the Health Center, so that patients do not have to be sent externally for EKG examinations.
We urgently need funds to procure this equipment so that we can continue providing primary health care without interruption.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to consider our request. We hope for a positive response.
Warm regards,
Bogatić Health Center
