On November 12, 2021, SAMA received a special award at the Serbian Philanthropic Annual Gala in New York City. The event was hosted by the Serbian Philanthropic Association, an organization that, in collaboration with the Vlade Divac Association, aims to support philanthropic and networking opportunities among the Serbian community. The purpose of the gala this year was to collect funds for an IT bootcamp in Serbia and to acknowledge two organizations that have made significant contributions to the betterment of Serbian people in Serbia and the diaspora. According to the committee, SAMA received multiple nominations and was voted for overwhelmingly in favor of receiving this year’s award. This was a great opportunity for SAMA to gain some visibility and recognition and we hope that more people will want to get involved.
The event was hosted in the luxurious Gotham Hall in New York City with about 500 guests. In attendance were Ivan Aksentijevich, Ivona Aksentijevich, Zoran Mladenovic, Jelena Mladenovic, and Vania Aksentijevich
